Hello! So you're looking for 411 on me.. well, I was born on the 7th of August, 1978
in Flushing, Queens in New York. I've lived half of my life here in Queens, and the other
half in Tampa, Florida.. moved back and forth quite a few times actually. I have hard working
parents who currently reside in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, with a younger brother, Alex, who
just turned 21. Music was always big in our family, especially with focus on singing.
My parents both have great voices, and though my brother hates to admit it, and may not see it,
he does have a voice of potential as well. For a while, I sang in the church chorus, and
thought maybe I can make it as a singer. Down the line singing kind of faded out, I'd say
after I stopped taking Taekwondo(which I took for almost 12 years.. 3rd degree black belt),
and eventually moved on to rhyming, with a crew called FBC. You may know one of the members
as Kain, who was signed to BadBoy under Puff Daddy, and made his first appearance with
the R&B group Dream. Anyhow, in late 1999, my brother convinced me to listen to these tracks
he had, and I guess that was the beginning of my love for trance. So, you might be thinking, how I ended up trying to spin music. Well, it's a weird story actually, and I never really planned it out, it just sort of happened. My interest in music was always strong, as I listened to a lot genres from hiphop, to dance, to earlier forms of electronic music, such as 2Unlimited, Robert Miles, and Fun Factory. After my brother introduced me to trance, I began feeling stronger towards it, eventually being pretty much the only genre of music I was listening to, with ATB's 9PM Till I come, and Kaycee's Escape. In the myst of registering with this online asian community(AsianAvenue.com), I chatted often with a bunch of people who had the common love for electronic music, called CLUBTRANCE. CLUBTRANCE created a radio station via Live365, with certain members, spinning on the regular via PC DJing. This is where my interest to spin began to grow, as I knew that even though I was mixing mp3's, it was something I knew someone was moving to and enjoying. It was attractive to me, with the idea that someone is jumping to something that I was playing. It was like a high for me, to envision being in front of a huge crowd, going nuts on the track I was playing, jumping around and dancing to something I had complete control over. But I knew that spinning records is on a whole other level, and yet still didn't have much confidence. Eventually, I had some differences with a few members, as well as others did, and in doing so, DJ Chiba created Neme.Sys.Audio, consisting of not only people who love electronic music, but also contributed by DJing and producing tracks. Somewhere along the line, I was inspired by DJ Chiba, DJ Art Cuebik(both who have had residency at local clubs, and have spun at Drum N Bass events), and SayY, who taught me the basics and little things I needed to know, as well as big DJ's like Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren & DJ Tiesto, and invested in my first pair of turntables, Technics 1200 mkII's. So what happens now? I actually recorded myself practicing, and I believe in a person being there worst critique, so I have a long way to go. I guess you can say my big dream is to earn the reputation of someone like Ferry Corsten, and spin at a huge event like Gatecrasher NEC, Cream, Godskitchen, etc. I still spin on CLUBTRANCE radio once in a while, on the various artists server(last server). Which if I plan to do, I'll post on the home page. I'm very active on the website Trance.nu, which has a huge community who all love trance. One of the headadmins is even signed to Alphabet City, known as Airbase.. so you can check me out on there in the Forums as DJTrancis. This is pretty much where I stand today. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me at anytime. Also, don't forget to visit the Neme.Sys.Audio website. Take care, and thanks for reading up. :) |
